Taylored Expressions Rainboot Bouquet Thank You Card

Taylored Expressions Rainboot Bouquet Handmade Card

Hey guys! Happy Spring! It’s such a nice sunny day here in Florida…I’ve been so lucky to be able to share my home (and the sunshine) these last few weeks with some of my family from upstate New York. I’m glad they were able to enjoy the sand and sun before returning two days before a blizzard snowed them in at home.

Today’s card is a reminder that Spring is here! It was created with the Rainboot Bouquet stamp set and matching die from Taylored Expressions — a great stamp set for Spring and Summer!

I stamped the rainboot image in Memento Black Ink on Copic X-Press cardstock and cut it out with the matching die. Then I colored it in with Copic markers. I stamped the sentiment on a stitched oval which I cut out with My Favorite Things Die-Namics.

TIP: Use the Misti Precision Stamping tool for perfect placement of your stamped images. I recently purchased my Misti and I LOVE it! Besides perfect placement, you are able to re-stamp over an image when you don’t get a complete stamp the first time.

For the background of my card, I mounted some retired Stampin’ Up! designer paper onto a mat layer of black cardstock. I almost always use a 4″ x 5.25″ mat layer on my A2 cards — I like the 1/8″ border that size mat gives.

To finish off my card I added some iridescent sequins which I attach with Micro Glue Dots. The micro glue dots are the perfect size for attaching sequins and other tiny embellishments.

I’ve entered today’s card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge — A “Bit O’Green”  The pretty tulips bring a bit o’green to remind everyone digging out from all of the recent snowfall, that Spring is here and warmer weather is just around the corner. 🙂

And the 30 Day Coloring Challenge — Even though I’m not able to color everyday the challenge encourages me to color whenever I can.

Many Thanks and My Favorite Things Color Challenge

Hey guys! I have another card for you made with the My Favorite Things All Occasion Sentiments stamps and Stitched Flowers Die-namics. Can you tell these have become two of my favorite crafty items. 🙂

My card today was inspired by the My Favorite Things Color Challenge. I didn’t have the specific colors used in the challenge so I substituted with some Stampin’ Up! cardstock that I had on hand and I think match pretty closely: Emerald Envy, Mint Macaron, Watermelon Wonder and Flirty Flamingo.

I stamped the “many thanks” sentiment in the lower right corner of  5″ x 3.75″ piece of 80lb white cardstock and then mounted the stamped layer onto a slightly larger mat layer (5.25″ x 4″) of green cardstock. Then I attached them to my card base made from 110lb white cardstock.

TIP:  I like to use the 110lb cardstock for the base of my cards and 80lb for layers…the heavier base gives my cards the support they need and the 80lb layers keeps them from becoming too heavy.

Once I had the “bones” of my card done, I added a wonky frame cut with the My Favorite Things Peek A Boo Wonky Window Die-namics and flowers cut with the My Favorite Things Stitched Flowers Die-namics.

TIP: To create the frame I placed the smaller wonky window die inside of the larger die and ran them both through the Big Shot at the same time.

I finished off my card with some iridescent sequins which I attach with micro glue dots.

Quick and Easy – Stampin’ Up! Thank You Card

Stampin Up Grateful for You

Quick and Easy
I’ve come to the conclusion that getting work done while out of town and visiting with family is nearly impossible. So today’s card is a quick and easy one.

English Garden DSP
Stampin’ Up! English Garden Designer Series Paper is so beautiful I decided to let it be the star of the show. I love the blue watercolor flowers. They make a great centerpiece for the card.

English Garden DSP
For All Things
Stampin’ Up! For All Things is a great stamp set for Thanksgiving and Fall. But why limit it to such a small portion of the year? I think the “Grateful For You” greeting is perfect for any time of year!

A Double Challenge and Triple Thanks

A Double Challenge
My allergy induced brain fog is starting to lift thanks to lots of Sudafed and Allegra. But I am still feeling the need for a little inspiration.

For today’s card, I combined two challenges. I turned to the Pals Paper Arts challenge for my layout and for my color palette I referred to the ColourQ Challenge.

Tone on Tone
For the tone on tone butterflies I combined:
  • Strawberry Slush and Rose Red
  • Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay
  • Tangerine Tango and Cajun Craze

Bakers Twine and Candy Dots
I wrapped Whisper White Thick Bakers Twine from the Occasions Catalog around the card and secured it to the center of each butterfly with a Daffodil Delight Candy Dot. I had to use an extra glue dot under the twine to keep it in place and stop it from flipping over.
Triple Thanks
I stamped “Thanks” from the Crazy About You stamp sets (one of my new faves) below each butterfly in the matching color. The Whisper White strip of cardstock is 1 1/2″ wide which is the exact width to accommodate the butterflies and stamped greeting.

All supplies for today’s project were from Stampin’ Up!
