Cardmaker & Quietfire Design Blog Hop

Hi Everyone! Welcome to the Quietfire Design and CardMaker Magazine Blog Hop. If you arrived here from Yogi Grunwald’s blog, you are on the right track. If you found your way here on your own, head over to the CardMaker Magazine blog so you can start hopping from the beginning! Be sure to visit all the blogs along the hop and leave comments as you go!  When you get to the end, Suzanne from Quietfire Design will have the details on a giveaway for a $50 gift certificate to the Quietfire online store.

I was sent a few stamps to play with. They all had such great sayings it was hard to choose which one to use for my blog hop card. I finally decided to use one of Quietfire’s newer stamps, “The Best Thing I Ever Did” for the blog hop and I plan to use the other ones for some beautiful Christmas cards so be sure to check back and see those creations!

For my card today, I began by creating the background using a stencil and distress inks. I was heavier with the ink in the two opposite corners so your eye would be drawn towards the beautiful sentiment which is the focal point of the card.

I stamped the hand lettered, inspirational saying on white cardstock and cut it out with an oval die. I used dimensional adhesive to lift the sentiment from the front of the card and tucked some die cut flowers underneath it.

Hope you enjoyed your visit! Next up on the hop is Wanda Hentges. If you get lost along the hop you can find a complete list below and at the CardMaker blog.

Cardmaker Magazine & Spellbinders Blog Hop

Hey everyone! Welcome to the Spellbinders and CardMaker Magazine Blog Hop. If you arrived here from Debi Adams blog you are on the right track. If you found your way here on your own, head over to the CardMaker Magazine blog so you can start hopping from the beginning! Be sure to leave a comment on each blog because Spellbinders is giving away a One Year Spellbinder Kit Membership — what an awesome prize!

I was sent the Spellbinders September Large Die of the Month kit to work with. The dies in this kit are so elegant and lacy — as soon as I saw it I thought it would be perfect for creating wedding themed items.

I used the dies to create a Shower Invitation, Table Numbers, Place Cards and a Decorative Strip that is perfect for decorating water glasses or a candle.

I printed the shower invitation on white paper and mounted it on layers of pink and navy cardstock. I die cut the lacy strip out of navy cardstock and then cut it in half, using each half along the edge of an A2 invitation.

I printed the table number, centered on a piece of 5 x 5″ white paper and layered it on pink and navy cardstock. Then I used the frame die to cut the pretty lacy border.

To finish off my bridal ensemble, I used the border die to create a wrapper that works perfectly on a water glass or candle and topped off the place card with a pretty blue accent piece cut with the accent die.
